Ray received an award for “Song of the Year” at the International Folk Alliance conference for his song ‘The Big Easy.’ The award was voted on by Folk & Americana radio DJs all across North America.
‘The Big Easy’ — a song in which the city of New Orleans is speaking to the world — is off Ray’s 2008 release, “Goin’ by Feel”. It was recorded in Montreal and Austin Texas, and is co-produced by Rob Heaney, Gurf Morlix, and Ray Bonneville.
